Authors Josh Meurer, Max O’Neill, and Jaime Ramirez hard at work.
|
About the Authors The writers for the Guy’s Guide of the Sinning in the City guidebooks are Josh Meurer, Max O’Neill, and Jaime Ramirez. All of the writers confess to having had some pretty good times here. All three authors had a singular goal, to make sure you know this is not your dad’s guide to Vegas. If bingo is your thing, we can’t help you. Josh Meurer Josh quit his job in Provo, Utah, and moved to Las Vegas to marry Ginger, a woman he met on the Internet. When Josh gave notice, his boss replied, “It’s every man’s dream. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.” Instead of being a stripper, his wife is a journalist who suckered the high-tech salesman into helping to write this book. While the Brigham Young University graduate doesn’t drink in all the sins of Las Vegas, he’s a big fan of sloth, gluttony and vanity. Max O’Neill Max hails from Omaha, Nebraska, but has happily adopted Las Vegas as his second home. He spent several years working for one of the largest casino companies in the world, giving him a unique perspective on the city from behind the scenes. Although a majority of his time is spent on the Strip, Max finds the natural outdoor beauty Vegas has to offer most appealing. While he’s often prone to sudden and intense nature treks, he makes it a point to never stray far from a good Irish pub. The promise of a cold bottle of Corona was enough to secure his participation in this book. Jaime Ramirez Jaime began his education in sin early, having been born in Las Vegas the year that Elvis died and Star Wars was released. Following a relatively sinless adolescence spent out of state, he returned to Nevada at age 20 to resume his education properly. A Mecca for night owls, smokers and whatever-you-can-think-of-aholics, Vegas would prove to be the perfect environment for this eager student. After earning a film degree from UNLV, he moved to Los Angeles (Sodom to Vegas’ Gomorrah) to pursue a screenwriting career. Living single, he is striving toward a little Star Wars of his own. Voyeuristic by nature, he doesn’t always participate, but has nevertheless become a teacher, informing the so-inclined on where to feed the sinful beast. |
